R2DII Enhancing Education Through Technology Extension

The RETC collaborated with the Bronx Office of Instructional Technology on a grant extension of Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT), Title IID, known in the Bronx as R2DII. In September 2007 nearly 200 teachers and administrators from public and non–public schools worked on activities to make their schools more technology–ready. School teams of technology leaders from more than 25 schools in the Bronx (Districts 8, 9, 11, and 12) attended workshops at Fordham University, received professional development visits in their schools and put together a project wiki. The wiki’s editable web pages allowed users to post, change, and delete material, and made it an ideal way to collaborate on projects over the Internet. School teams worked on creating or refining technology plans for their schools, researched technology needs and equipment, and posted technology–infused lesson plans on their wiki space. Online technology surveys were conducted in each of the schools to gather data about technology use, needs, and awareness. Schools received the survey results which they could use to assist them in planning, purchasing, and professional development. To see the fine work these participants did , visit the project wiki at
